Into the Woods We Go …

“On the Way to Woodyland

I found two paths … and I had a choice …

I found the light … I found the dark … and I had a choice …

 I found love … I found hate … and I had a choice …

I found peace … I found anger … and I had a choice …

I found truth … I found illusion … and I had a choice …

Adventures in Woodyland

And so the story begins…

Somewhere in time…in neither the past nor the future, two children sat playing, lost in the present moment, near a green-wooded forest close by to their home.

As they played, a peculiar thing happened.  The sounds of the nearby forest began to beckon them from boredom and called them silently on the wings of the wandering wind.

The birds sang and their silent message, also, followed the wind with invisible notes which whispered to the children unknowingly, quietly…suggesting the adventure.

“Let’s go to the forest, said one child to the other.  You can be an adventuress and I shall be an adventurer and the forest will be our greatest adventure ever.”

So the children left their pails and shovels, their sand castles and mud pies…all the familiar…and headed for the woods.

“Somewhere in time, there is a mountain everyone must climb that lies deep within the forest of their mind …

It is a mountain with many paths both high and low …

It is a place that lies neither in the past nor the future it exists only in the present moment …

It is a place called by many names …

But, I have chosen to call this special place …

Twilight in the forest … the time when misty moments skillfully blend sunny days into dark nights …

And, a brook winding through the middle of the forest babbling through time … separates the two lands one from the other …

setting the stage for the “Learning” … the “Understanding” … the “Adventure”

In the Place That Has Been and Always Shall Be Forever …

“A Song from the Forest”

Imagination take flight to a tree in the light …

Imagination take flight to a tree in the light …

Deep in the forest we go to the tree that will know …

Deep in the forest we go to the tree that will know …

Wisdom lies waiting to show … so into the forest we go … into the forest we go.

Adventures to share … we can always go there … Adventures to share … we can always go there …

If deep in the forest we stay … If deep in the forest we play …

It’s a place we will find … It’s a place we will find … It’s a place we will find

On Our Way …

Adventures to share … in Woodyland there … Adventures to share in Woodyland there …

Through the tree is the way … Turning night into day … Through the tree is the way … Turning night into day …

Wisdom to share … we can always go there … Wisdom to share we can always go there …

“On the Way to Woodyland” is a story about all of us as we travel through our own pathways in life.  The story is about building self-esteem while we are still children, learning about values in life, and most of all about “choices” which always affect our lives in so many ways.

An enchanting group of characters who live in the forest of Woodyland act out the dramas that parallel children’s lives in the real world.

The child becomes the objective observer in order to better learn the wisdom that lies beyond the knotholes of the “Old Oak Tree”.

It is a story about “choices” …

The main character of “On the Way to Woodyland” is “Hodge” …

the All-Knowing Owl.

He is a Wise Teacher and Friend to the Adventurer and Adventuress.

He is a character that is comfortable to be with and someone the children can always respect, trust and go to with any problem they might have.

Hodge “shows” rather than “tells” the children which path is better, so that it is their “choice”.  As he teaches the lessons along the way through life with great compassion, he teaches a constructive way of “being and living” rather than a “destructive” way of “doing and acting”.

Hodge comes from “love” rather than “fear”, from “joy” rather than “anger”.

There are many other characters such as the “Chickie Birds” who teach that …

“Whatever seed is sown that exactly will be grown” …

and the “Chickie Bees” who make “sweet chickie bee honey butter”.

Missy Mouse just can’t decide between “Sweet Chickie Bee Honey Butter or Red Juicy Berries from the Very Merry Berry Bush”

The Chickie Birds ask you to join them and sing the notes to Do Re Mi …

So Let’s Start At the Very Beginning … A Very Good Place to Start …

Children Will Listen

(a Mondegreen Version)

Sometimes people leave you
Halfway through the wood
Do not let it grieve you
No one leaves for good
You are not alone
No one is alone

Welcome to the light now
Can you see the glow
Things will be all right now
I will show you what you know

Once upon a time
(In a far-off land there were two children playing at the edge of the woods)
Careful the things you say
Children will listen
Careful the things you do
Children will see
And learn

Guide them along the way
Children will glisten
Children will look to you
For which way to turn
To learn what to be
Careful before you say
“Listen to me”
Children will listen

Careful the wish you make
Wishes are children
Careful the path they take
Wishes come true
Not free

Careful the spell you cast

Not just on children

Sometimes the spell may last

Past what you can see

And turn against you

Careful the tale you tell

That is the spell

Children will Listen

WHERE ONLY THE MOTHER AND CHILD
“MEET AND GREET” …

A Parable – Two Babies Talking in the Womb

from “Your Sacred Self” by Dr. Wayne Dyer

In a mother’s womb were two babies. The first baby asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”
The second baby replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”
“Nonsense,” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What would that life be?”
“I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths.”
The doubting baby laughed. “This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat with our mouths? Ridiculous. The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. Life after delivery is to be excluded. The umbilical cord is too short.”
The second baby held his ground. “I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here.”
The first baby replied, “No one has ever come back from there. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery it is nothing but darkness and anxiety and it takes us nowhere.”
“Well, I don’t know,” said the twin, “but certainly we will see Mother and She will take care of us.”
“Mother?” The first baby guffawed. “You believe in Mother? Where is She now?”
The second baby calmly and patiently tried to explain.

“She is all around us.

It is in Her that we live.

Without Her there would not be this world.”

“Ha. I don’t see her, so it’s only logical that She doesn’t exist.”

To which the other replied, “Sometimes when you’re in silence you can hear Her, you can perceive Her.

I believe there is a reality after delivery and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality when it comes….”
